Presented here is gorgeous little vintage French Limoges porcelain trinket box with a hinged lid, purchased approximately thirty years ago at reknowned retailer Asprey in Paris, France. The design of this oval box, which measures 3 1/8\"long x 2\" wide x 7/8\" deep, features a textured surface on the lid, with a scrolled relief foliate design around the sides. This piece is glazed with gold over the top and sides (gold-glazed pieces are rather rare for Limoges), with a hand-painted garland of flowers in soft tones of blue, burgundy, pink, purple, yellow and green encircling the lid\'s top surface. The lid closes with a gold plated clasp in the form of a single rose branch. The unglazed white bottom of the box has a hand-written mark in medium blue and dark blue, reading \"Asprey\", \"Limoges France\", \"Peint Main\" (meaning the piece is painted entirely by hand), and script initials \"GCL\". The white glazed interior of the box has a hand-painted gold foliate spray design on both the bottom and the lid. The condition of this piece is excellent; there is extremely minimal age-related wear to the gold glaze and the gold plating on the hinge and lid clasp. There is no wear to either the lid\'s trim, the hand-painted floral garland, or the interior. And the bottom of the box has only some small contact marks around its edges. In every regard, this beautiful Limoges box is a real gem, and with its outstanding condition and rare gold glazing, both veteran and novice collectors alike will find it a perfect way to add to, or start, a Limoges box collection!
