Vintage Lot 6 Dolls England Scottish Guards Celluloid Sleepy Eyes :

This is an adorable of six vintage sleep eyes Scottish / English dolls as well as palace guard dolls with muffed hats. Two are 12\" tall, the others are approximately 7\" tall. I am guessingtheywere made sometime in the 1950\'s. The two taller ones say \"Cinderella Size 01\" on the bottoms of their feet. I see no other markings on them, but I did not attempt to remove their clothes just to see if they were marked. I think they are the type of clothing that is not removable. I don\'t know their manufacturer but if I were to guess I would say they were probably made by Pedigree or Roddy, two prominent makers of dolls in England back in the 1950\'s but I cannot guarantee it. Their body, head and legs are all one piece and are not jointed.Their arms, however, are strung and can move.They are dressed in Scottish Tartan Plaid kilts and the three smaller ones appear to be English palace guards. These dolls were stored in a box in my aunt\'s basement and could probably use a little cleaning to get them in great shape. They are not broken or chipped in any way.

They all have the \"blinky\" type of sleep eyes that pop open when standing and close when they are laying down.Their eyes are bright blue and clear. They open and close effortlessly. One of the Cinderella doll\'s eyes are a little more difficult to close. Their complexions looks great....very fairbut slightlypeachy withrosy blushed cheeks (on just the girl doll). I see no scratches, stains, or penmarks.All of the dolls without hats have blonde hair.

Their outfits are very detailed andhave no apparent flaws or damage.The tops to each doll are black velveteen with white lace trim at necklines and arm cuffs. Both are wearing Scottish Tartan plaid kilts. They both have Tartan plaid scarves over their left shoulders. They girl is wearing a black velveteen beret or tam with red pom-pom on top. It has just a little bit of wear on the top where it might have rubbed against something. It looks just like the type of hat that the London palace guards at Buckingham Palace wear. It is in great shape. Both dolls have painted on black shoes. All of the outfits are in excellent condition. I see no rips, holes, etc. The velveteen on both coats is just a littledusty. That is all.The boy is carryingbagpipes that looks to be glued to the front of him. They are quite detailedand look great.Thissweethearts have no unpleasant odors. We are a smoke-free home.Theywould make a great addition to your vintage Souvenir or Vintage Hard Plastic doll collection.
