Hello! For your consideration, a very nice stone tiki figure from the Marquesas Islands.It was hand carved from a basalt stone by a master carver.
Measures: 10\" in height x 5.3\" in width (widedest point)
Stone pestles Marquesas islands were for popoi cooking, food preparation which was once surrounded by tapu.The top part of the more elaborate of them - as here - is adorned with a powerful header tiki Deity, finely modeled features.
