DESCRIPTION Vintage Marx Marx Electric Mercury Copper Brass Articulated Six Piece SetCars have wear as shown in the photos. The actual electric motor tries to run, but the drive gears have some thermal cracking which binds up the engine. Motor needs new geared wheels to run properly.I am selling a very large number of vintage Marx trains, please see my other listings for many more vintage Marx train items from the 1930s to the 1960s. Overall these trains being listed are in typical condition for their age (some better some worse), and I took numerous photos to show condition. If there were any specific areas of interest with them, I tried to take a detail photo, so there shouldn\'t be any surprises when you get the item. I have tested the engines of all trains that I have listed. Unless otherwise stated here, the motors are in functional condition and do not have shorts or opens, and will operate (some more smoothly than others). The electric motors could benefit from a good cleaning or reconditioning for smooth/reliable operation or for strong pull strength. Many of the trains listed have their light bulbs(if so equipped), some do not, and many of the sparkers(if so equipped) need new flint. If a motor is not functional or needs repair, I will state that in this description. I am listing over 100 Marx train sets, locos and cars, so if I make a mistake in a listing or you are not happy with the item, I will work to fix any problems that arise, just send me a message. I take returns for all my items. I will answer any questions that I can, but can\'t post additional photos or do any specific testing.
