Thisbeautiful, handmade17\" Mary Poppins doll is in excellent condition.The attention to detail on this set is amazing!The 12 accessories are all in excellent condition, except for the gloves and stockings (see below) which are still very usable or optional accessories. Made in the 1960\'s when the originalmovie came out. Nothing is stretched, torn, or worn. There is no basement, attic, or musty smell.
The set includes:
- 17\" doll, with cotton, machine-stitched body with hand-stitched facial features and yarn hair in a tight bun and sewn. Body and head are 1 piece and arms and legs attachedsecurely.
- One-piece cotton shirt and petticoat combo with red velvet bow and eyelet detail, 2 snap closures
- 2 extra long wool blend stockings, sturdy construction; slightly moth-eaten*
- 2 gloves--actually mittens, wool blend, with thumb; slightly moth-eaten*
- 1 long full, cotton skirt, completely reversible, with hook & eye closure
- 1 long purple felt coat with 2 white buttons for show and a snap closure, with 2 flaps for pockets at the hips.
- 2 black felt boots with a flat sole, heel, and 4 white buttons on a scalloped edge. 2 snaps each, allow easy dressing. Beautiful!
- 1 skillfully stitched black felt hat with ricrac border and flowers at the base of the crown
- 1 wool muffler with yarn fringe in excellent condition, snap closure
- AND Mary Poppins famous carpet bag! Cotton outside is hand embroidered and lined with purple felt. Handles are attached sturdily and made stiff with chenille wires. The outside material matches one side of the skirt and the inside matches the coat
*The moth damage is minimal, see the pictures. These accessories are optional when doll is dressed. The stockings are not visible at all with boots on.
