I\'m selling off all of my molds. It\'s just time for someone else to enjoy them. I had a small chalkware business but realize I really won\'t ever have time. I\'m sure someone else could make some wonderful chalkware or paper mache pieces. Or start your own little business.
This is one of the largest heaviest molds I\'ve ever seen. Weighs a little over 21 ounces. This is one big baby! 11 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches wide and 4 inches front to back (measuring the head). Has 34 stamped from and back so sides match. And 17499 stamped on the front. It corresponds to an Anton Reiche number but there is no Reiche stamp on it. Has 2 tiny holes on the flange near the ear. Wear from the clips. Has 5 nice clips.
Has a really lovely mellow patina and no rust. Does have a few dents on the back of the head that I didn\'t even notice until I took the pictures. I guess I was only looking at the front of the mold while displaying it. When you look at the side profile you can see the curve built in. On this mold it was so the ears would end up on the front half of the mold and not be split in half at the seam. Can you imagine when this mold was used and there were some lucky kids who got to have this giant baby in chocolate?
