Vintage Metal Egyptian Pharoah Tut Statue 1920's Era, Very Detailed, No Reserve For Sale
Price Reduced from initial listing.I have returned to using this seller account after more than a year, so that is why I do not have a rating, but only an indication of how many items sold. I am also selling under " lovethyneighbor43214" currently with 100% positive rating. This statue measures 8 1/2" tall by 4" at its widest point at the back and 2 3/4" wide at the front. It is likely brass and is a layer over a core of a resin or stone material. It has been intentionally aged to give the appearance of having been dug up, so there is some paint missing throughout the piece. There is a sandy coating on parts of the piece to also give the feeling of it having been excavated which it likely has not. It is highly detailed with the man sitting crossed arms on the throne, a sphinx on either side of the piece with a cornflower blue background above it, rust colored lotus flowers to the right and left of the king. At the back, there are rust lotus flowers and at the back bottom there seems to be hieroglyphics. There's a few minor 1/8 inch indentations in several spots, which add to the appeal, but likely happened due to the nature of the construction. A the bottom, there is an area where the metal is peeling back from the core, about 1/2" by 3/4". It is possible that this is a single bookend. Period to the 1920's-30's era and an outstanding piece of Egyptian inspired artwork.
