We have spent over 40 years collecting items from garage sales and sales, along with accepting vintage items and antiques handed down from our family and friends. Now retired, it is time to share some of these treasures.
For sale is a vintage metal sculpture of a lion attacking a crocodile. This piece is extremely detailed; from the croc\'s leathery looking hide, to the lion\'s mane and facial features, right down to the ribbing in the lions upper mouth. The overall dimensions of the figure are 13 1/2\" long x 6\" wide x 8 1/2\" tall. The weight is 7 pounds 8 ounces. There is very minimal scratching and there are no missing or broken pieces. The material has a silver look and is soft like pewter or lead coated in a dark looking antique patina, not paint. The whole piece is non-magnetic. The base has a wooden cover that has an old antique look to it. The age is unknown. The only sign of a maker\'s mark is the initials \"VF\" which are scratched on the inside of the metal base. I see three 1/8\" diameter holes which I believe to be part of the casting process. Also, there is a sticker with the number 64 on it, but have no idea what it represents. Please review the photos for condition. If you are a collector of lion sculptures or figurines and are looking for something with a true life like look, then this is definitely one to consider. It\'s not brass, but it still has that detailed look you want.
