DESCRIPTION: This is one of the rarest of the George Nelson chrome and lucite clocks. We see many of the other styles, with the scroll-style pendulum, and the chains-only type pendulum, but we rarely have seen this skinny tube chrome model. This goes PERFECTLY with your Milo Baughman chrome furniture, because the size of the chrome tubes is the same. This is GORGEOUS! And the chimes are NOT annoying, very soft, not tinny sounding. We have taken several movies of this in action on our phones and are happy to email to you upon request! On the hour, it chimes double time for each hour. For instance, at 2 o\'clock, it goes \'ding-dong, ding-dong,\' that is one \'ding-dong\' for each hour; and at 2:30, it goes \'ding-dong\' just once. It winds up in two spots on the front, presumably one for the time keeping, and one for the chimes? Includes the original Number 9 key, which winds both sides. We are testing it now to see how many days it keeps time before being wound again. It has never been over wound, it has worked perfectly since it was purchased new, and it came from a VERY lovely, non-smoking Carmel-by-the-Sea estate. It does have some expected dust inside the casing, but not much, as it\'s obvious to us that the owner must have had this regularly serviced and cleaned by a professional clock person. In the past when we\'ve seen these Geo Nelson Lucite clocks, they\'ve always had lots of dust and debris inside. We will not clean this, it is for you to do if you feel it\'s needed. This will be packed according to the way a local clock person has instructed us, by securing the chimes and removing the pendulum. The photos show how the pendulum attaches, so you will be able to easily install it. We are THIS close to keeping this ourselves, as we have all that chrome furniture from the 60s and 70s that this goes with perfectly... but as cool as it is, we don\'t really like having clocks in the house (don\'t ask).
