This listing is for a Vintage, Wallace Silver Baroque 227 Footed Sauce Bowl in Silver Plate. This serving piece is exceptionally versatile with it\'s deep sides and could be called a Condiment, Nut or Candy Dish or Bowl depending on it\'s use. The Baroque pattern was introduced to compliment the Grande Baroque flatware pattern shortly after it\'s introduction in 1941. The bold handles and trim designs are stunning featuring exquisitely detailed flowers, acanthus leaves and scrolls. It\'s easy to see why Baroque and Grande Baroque are some of the most popular patterns for collectors and decorators. The bottom is marked \"Baroque by Wallace 227\". Has a lovely natural patina to it.Measurements:
The bowl measures 6 1/4\" in diameter at the rim, 4\" high and weighs 10.6 oz.Condition:
There are no dents, dings or bends. The plate is superb with no bubbling or pitting. There are very few light scratches as found on all silver and silverplate, but no deep marks, gouges or abrasions. It will make a great addition to a Baroque or silver collection, a stunning addition to the table or a beautiful display piece.History:
Wallace Silversmiths was founded in small shop in Cheshire, Connecticut in 1833. By 1855 the company was thriving and operating under the name R. Wallace and Co in Wallingford producing flatware under contract of many different companies. The first flatware bearing the Wallace name were produced in 1875 adding Holloware to compliment the lines shortly after. It\'s most popular patterns, The Third Dimension Beauty Collection began introduction in 1934.
