A vintage military uniform/suit- great for 1940s costume event or any vintage show etc. A great stage costume or good for festival wear. This uniform was made around 1940s -1950s - so may not be original 1940s but great for vintage fashion event - good for Goodwood etc. This is a uniform jacket labeled - Moss Bros Covent Garden. In dark blue pure wool the jacket has a round cropped collar. It has two button down breast pockets and two flap over side pockets . The buttons are brass coloured with Royal Army Service Corps logo. There are stud buttons on each shoulder epaulette . There are metal belt rests ( but sorry I do not have the belt) and two buttons on each sleeve.
The trousers are dark blue wool cloth with a red stripe down the outer leg. The trousers have a metal zipper fly and adjuster straps at the waist to alter to the correct fitting. Jacket Size Medium - chest size is 40 inches - from armpit to armpit is 20 inches. Length of jacket is 32 inches. Shoulder to shoulder across the back is 19 inches. Sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff is 25 inches. Trouser size: Waist 32. Inside leg: 31 with a hem which could be let down another 1 inch.Condition: Very good vintage condition - some slight signs of wear. The outer jacket is very good - the lining at the sleeves is torn at both armpits and needs to be repaired. The trousers are missing a button at the waist but otherwise good condition. This suit needs dry cleaning as it has been in store for many years. Please see photos and email any questions - I am happy to help.
