Wear me close to your heart, I will protect you.... a beautiful Miraculous Medal pendant by THEDA, an 1940\'s Art Deco design in Sterling silver, marcasites and faux mother of pearl, Sterling chain. Our Lady of Grace standing with open arms on top of earth, similar to the way the Miraculous Medal was struck. CONDITION: good, all marcasites are present & secure, tarnishing & fine scratches, medal is secure, tiny nick in MOP, back has some scratches, marked \"STERLING THEDA\", the chain has a spring clasp, marked \"Sterling\", and clasp opens and closes securely. Item is vintage, used NOT new or in perfect condition. PLEASE BE SURE TO REVIEW measurements, description and shop policies in full.

The Miraculous Medal; The extraordinary historical story begins on July 18, 1830, a mysterious child awakens Sister Catherine Laboure. The child leads Sister Catherine to the convent\'s chapel, and they see the Virgin Mary, sitting in a chair. Sister Catherine kneels beside Mary, and rests her hands in the Virgin\'s lap, and they speak for several hours. Mary promises she will return and give the young nun \"a mission.\" The child leads Catherine back to her bed, and she hears the clock strike 2am on July 19.

Soon, four months later, Sister Catherine learns what Mary wants; Catherine has a vision of Mary standing in a position similar to the depiction on the medal, during her evening meditation on Nov. 27, 1830. Later, the vision changes to include the inscription found on the front side of the medal. Mary speaks to Catherine, saying, \"Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around their neck.\"
