For your consideration, a fine koa wood carved modernistbowl, most probably circa 1950’s-1970’s. This fine example of 20thcentury studio wood sculpture is noteworthy for its modernist asymmetrical polymorphicshape and exceptional workmanship; the bowl is very light in weight, weighingonly several ounces. The bowl displays a graphic wood grain and a deep reddish chocolatecolor. The piece is signed “Park” and notated “Koa WO”. The work measures 10” x6” x 3” and is in excellent condition with no chips, damage, or repairs. Thework is most probably of Hawaiian or Californian origin.
