Joyful signed George Michaud painting is mid century between 1950s and 1970, at which time I believe his career ended with his untimely death. He is well listed. He was born in 1929 in Santa Fe New Mexico of Spanish and French heritage he attended Chinaud , eventually left New Mexico and came to California and open a gallery in Laguna Beach and was very successful painting scenes of California life. This painting is a good example of his mid century modern work very clean and joyful. his beach paintings are sought after and children were very often his subject. You will see that his early work has a Hispanic New Mexico air to it. And his California work embodies The California lifestyle. This work is quite large it measures 36 x 24\" canvas alone, it is in the original frame that has water stain on the linen mount liner that can be cleaned.
