This sale is for a vintage three piece Montague Timber Lake, 9’ long split bamboo fly rod. There is a Montague Timber Lake decal.
All of the sections measure 37” each, bottom, mid and two tips.
The 5 ¾” cork handle has some wear but it is in full functional condition as is the nickel plated brass sliding ring reel seat.The bamboo is solid with no cracks, splits or major hook dings. The varnish is solid and has a nice sheen. There are no snake eye guides on the mid section, three on the tips and a stripper guide on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly.
This classic Montague rod can still be fished and would be a versatile fly rod for streams and rivers. It will also make a handsome display.
