single owner.
Pen was cleaned, inspected and refurbished by
MontBlanc in June, 2017. Cone and filler bodywere
replaced by MontBlanc at that time, havingbeen
incorrectly removed (by me) when the pen wasbeing
readied for sale.
MontBlanc’s dated, numbered service invoice will
accompany pen upon purchase
MontBlancdoes note traces of use, visible to the master
craftsman when the pen was inspectedunder high magnification,
that may not be seen to the naked eye.We findthat to be the case
and can find no readily apparent signs of use or wear.
Inresponse to a question about this pen:
Thepen has no serial number anywhere that I can find, either on the clip band or underthe clip. MontBlanc
did assign a number to the pen in June, per the servicerecord and receipt. It begins with MWIfollowed by
six numbers and is described as an ‘individual number’ on the servicerecord, as a serial number on the
invoice/receipt. There are also invoice numbers and serviceorder numbers. When I spoke with MontBlanc
to inquire whether the individual number/serial # could be provided as anactual serial number, it was explained
that this is MontBlanc’s referencenumber for this pen and not a serial number, that pens crafted prior to 1991
did not have serial numbers.
Thepen, which belonged to my late father, was purchased by my mother as a gift soI was able to get additional
information. It was purchased new in the 1990s,from either Neiman Marcus or one of a couple of high-end
jewelers. From what Ihave come to understand, that time frame is consistent with the lack of aserial number.
Though the little Warranty and Guaranty booklets are included, whicheverestablishment sold the pen to my
mother did not complete them (see additionalphotos.). The Guaranty booklet has no information specific to this
pen. The Warrantybooklet has only the Meisterstuck 149 filled in (see photo). However, thewarranty card footnote
indicates that it was published/updated in 1989—also consistentwith purchase. Interestingly, the booklet also
references an exclusive NorthAmerican representative that was not part of the purchase of the pen by my
mother (see photo).
Thank you for your interest.
I am happy to answer questions or provide additional
