The turquoise in this squash blossom necklace is one of the most amazing that I have ever seen. The swirls of black chert matrix are extremely unusual. These stones make this squash blossom a world class one-of-a-kind necklace. Note the settings with twisted wire and hand stamping. Each setting custom made to fit the stone. This squash blossom is a real find. Don\'t let it get away from you!

About Blue Diamond Turquoise

Blue Diamond Turquoise was so named because it is one of thehardest turquoises ever found. The BlueDiamond mine is located outside of Austin, Nevada and was first mined in the1930s. The mine is considered a “hatmine” which is only a small deposit of turquoise that “you can cover with yourhat”.

The stones that this mine produces, which are usually largepieces in plate form, look a great deal like Stormy Mountain Turquoise becauseof its black smoky matrix surrounded by a brilliant blue. The characteristic black chert ispresent. Long time area miners have beennoted to have said the Blue Diamond mine yielded some of the best turquoise inNevada. This turquoise is extremely hardand is seldom stabilized.
