Elegant, vintage, "Doorknob Lock," made by "LaBelle Industries" of Oconomowoc, WI sometime around the middle of the previous century.

We found this knob-lock, and made set out of it by adding a pair of brass rosettes and a plain, round, brass knob to each knob-lock. The knob that we added is just a regular knob, which don\'t have the locking feature that the LaBelle knob has. Unfortunately, we do not have a key for it, but your local locksmith may be able to make one for you.

Functionality: When in the "unlocked" position the knob spins and spins, never turning the spindle (steel connecting rod), which in turn, doesn\'t engage the actual lock, which is installed in the door, and the door remains closed. When in the "locked" position, the spindle and knob turn at the same time, the lock is engaged and retracts it\'s latch from the door jamb, and the door opens.

Since this set doesn\'t have a key, the knob-lock is always in the "locked" position and acts like a regular knob.

We didn\'t include a mortise lock with any of the sets. If you do need a lock, we could sell one to you (see examples in the last photo). Email us for pricing.

Condition: The LaBelle knob-lock is, "New Old Stock," meaning that was made a long time ago but never used. As a result it is in excellent with only light scuffs and a few spots of tarnish. It is unused so it functions "like new."

The rosettes and knobs that we added from our collection are all antique or vintage and have varying amounts of patina (tarnish) and paint spots, and subtle dents, light scrapes and scratches, and tiny nicks (see photos). However, those are only cosmetic blemishes which add character to the pieces.
