This is a vintage, handmade Navajo ring was most likely made during the 1980\'s. It is well made and has a contemporary style and feel. The ring has a polished round coral cabochon center stonemeasuring approximately 3/8\"H by 5/8\"W. The band hascarvings on each side of the center stone,is stamped sterling and S.Y. for artist name.The ring is a size 6.5 andweighsapproximately4.6 grams. Navajo Steven Yellowhorse wasborn in 1954 in CorpusChristi, Texas andlearned the art of silversmithing fromKevinBarnhill and Tom Taylor.Currently Stevelives and works in Gallup,New Mexico.He began his silversmithing career in 1975 creatingother traditional and contemporary pieces with heavy stampwork in gold and/orsterling silver. His unique designs are easily recognizable and stem from hislove of nature.
