These beautiful earrings features classic Navajo Nation silversmith work throughout with gorgeous handmade quality that you just can\'t buy anymore!

Antique/Vintage Native American jewelry is very rare to find. This is due to these pieces being made for reservation and personal use before the tourist trade became popular. Very few pieces were made and even less survived to today.

Both earrings are marked \"Sterling AB\" to represent the metal purity and the maker\'s mark. I was unable to find any information on whom the mark represents.

These earrings are vintage and have been treasured by many hands. In addition to obvious tarnish through out the earrings there is oil buildup from exposure to human touch. These are the reflective black colored areas in the accents under the stone. If desired this can be removed with polishing cream and a good cleaning with warm soap and water.

The Piece

These earrings each feature a stunning Azurite gemstone. Each stone is a wonderful deep royal blue with a green splotchy matrix. The stones would have been oval and cabochon cut and then polished to perfection by \"AB\" specifically for this design. The stones are nestled inside saw tooth bezel settings in the center of the earrings as the obvious focal point.

The earrings are crafted out of solid sterling silver and are completely handmade. The design exhibits a sun border with oxidized backgrounds all the way around the bezel. The outside edges of the oval motif are riveted to match the pattern of the sun border within the earrings.

The earrings measure 3/4\" tall by 5/8\" wide. The Azurite gemstone measures 3/8\" tall by just over 1/4\" wide. The design includes posts for pierced ears, however they do not include backings.

*Due to the age of some of these pieces, some items will not be stamped. The National Stamping Act was not enacted until 1906, before 1906 jewelry was not legally required to have a karat mark. This is one way to date items prior to the Art Nouveau time period.
