I tested this (with a colored bulb) and it does indeed work. There is also an extra fuse still attached to the cord should the original fuse (in plug) go out.This is approximately 21 inches and made of plastic (Empire Co - USA)This is a used product - nose is dented it and I don\'t know that there is anyway to \"undent\" it - some paint is missing in different areas. Hope the photos are good enough to show it.
