This is a listing for a vintagehand wrought Navajo cuff that features ten large natural amber stones.
Hallmark: Signed BP. Could be Platero or Pinto, both Navajo.
Dimensions: Heavy 80 gram bracelet. Inside tip to tip measurement, not including the gap, is 5 and 13/16th inches. The gap adds another 1 inch for a total wearing length of 6.75 inches. The cuff was made with slightly flexible silver, for comfort putting it on and off. But I would not consider it an easily adjustable piece, so you have to be precise in your wrist measurement. The face of the bracelet is wide with a measurement of 1.25 inches. The stones are beautifully matched for size and shape. They were each cut into a free form shape and each one is different, but theyblend into a beautiful mosaic. They average 7/8th of an inch in length and about .5 inches in width.
Design and Quality: A two row cuff with deep smooth bezels that are hand filed tightly surrounding each stone. The stones are abrilliantgolden cognac in color with rich brown root beer brown inclusions, highly translucent with a bright hard polish. They were cut with a domed surface to allow the light to flow through them, enhancing their color and natural beauty. The background has become naturally oxidized with age and I have left it that way, as it takes decades to develop and is a beautiful patina next to the amber. Simple sterling drop accents finish the piece.
This bracelet is a must have for the amber lover. Navajo silversmiths occasionally use amber in their pieces. But it isn\'t common and I\'ve never seen one this nice. Thank you for looking.
