VINTAGE NAVAJO
RAYNARD \"R.J.\" SCOTT BRACELET
DESCRIPTION: Three layers of silver were used to make this bracelet. Each layer was hand-cut to produce the necessary design elements. In addition to the precise saw blade work, the 1st and 2nd silver layer were applied with silver dust which was then fused to the underlying silver (a process called granulation). The 3rd or top layer of the bracelet (which is the focal point of the design) was highly polished. By doing that Ray made that feature of the design to appear to float above the bracelet. Ray\'s work is noted for its fine harmony between polished and textured surfaces and exquisite detail. His jewelry is made entirely by himself. Nothing is bought from jewelry supply stores, nor do any other silversmiths participate in the making of his jewelry. This bracelet will be a cherished addition to your collection of fine vintage Native American jewelry.
