You guessed it............another stunning piece from my Mother\'s (1917-1989) collection..........!!! (And still more to come.)

This is the fabulous Godber-Burnham turquoise often referred to as the best turquoise in the world. Known for its hardness which makes it great turquoise to work with, as most turquoises are relatively soft and can crumble when cutting. Godber-Burnham requires no stabilization because of its hardness.

I just love this stone. If you look closely, you will see what looks like a shooting star in the red/brown matrix at the upper right.

The silver work is exquisite - a beautifully shaped feather on each side of the stone ending in a silver bead. One going clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. Twisted rope braid surrounds the entire oval shaped pin. The turquoise is set in a smooth bezel. And then there is twisted braid between the end of each feather and each silver bead.

Dimensions of the pin are 1 7/8\" long and 1 1/4\" wide. There is a safety catch which is in perfect working condition. The turquoise itself measures 31mm x 21mm. (That\'s like (+/-) 1 1/4\" x 7/8\").

And then we flip it over and I\'ve had quite a number of \"experts\" look at this piece and none of them can quite figure the markings on the back. They all agree it is lightly etched with a maker\'s mark, but don\'t agree on what it is.

This is a gorgeous, fabulous old Navajo work of art with a super piece of beautifully cut turquoise. What more can you ask for?
