Good condition. The old patina is just as it should be.

I know the temptation to shine these binoculars up to its original beauty would be great, but highly recommend that the winner leaves these just as they are as the old patina is what true collectors want to see in such historical items.

You can find an example of a pair of these that was listed in a high end sale on the internet just as I did. According to my research, the high end sale is quoted saying, because of the superior quality, France was able to supply these binoculars to both sides of the war in the US during the Civil War.
