This listing is for A WONDERFUL LOT OF 6 VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE BAMBOO FISHING SPEARS!

The spears are a wonderful estate sale find! They were tucked away with a bunch of random fishing equipment in a large box marked Lake House. I do not know if the spears were meant for use or ceremony.

They have been individually carved with slightly varying details on each.

The spears measure 56\" long. The bamboo shaft has finely carved markings that I believe to be Pacific Island oriented, but have no way to know for sure. Inserted into the end of each shaft is a carved piece of ornately carved, reed or raffia wrapped wood. The tip of each spear is securely wrapped and the tip is also spiral carved. Protruding from just behind the tips are multiple barbs that would hold the fish like hooks. These appear to be either quills or carved from thin bamboo and each is attached with the reed wrapping to the spear. The end of the spear is also wrapped in matching wrap.

Spears are in overall good to very good condition. Beautiful display pieces, but delicate. Age wear includes splits in the bamboo shafts, missing or broken quills and one is missing the entire wood piece. Please see pictures for further details.
