Offered for sale a rather rare and desirable Military Issue PS&W ( Peck Stowe & Wilcox) no. 59 1/2 ratchet brace in the hard to find 6 inch size.

Measures 3 inch from center of to chuck axis to middle of the handle giving it a 6 inch throw.

Six inch ratcheting braces are great for accurate drilling of holes in tight spaces and are really superb when used as a screwdriver.

Torque is much greater and easy to hold screwdriver down as you turn it.

Brace is stamped PS&W 59 1/2 and it also carries the Military designation of O.D. USA which I understand to mean Ordnance Department.

Brace is in very good overall condition though the chuck shows dings and dents from use.

The scissor spring chuck was replaced with an exact duplicate because the original was beat up and no longer held a bit.

So, please do not purchase this as a collector\'s piece.

It will make a wonderful user!

Brace retains most if its nickel finish, also about all of its black finish on the wood.

No play or slip in either the chuck or the pad. Pad spins freely. Ratchet selector is fine and works as it should, very positive. Please see my photos which shows everything well.
