Vintage Original George Nelson Spindle Clock 1957:

This is a vintage original spindle wall clock designed in 1957 by Lucia de Respinis, the only woman industrial designer who worked on Nelson clocks.

Walnut wooden spindles banded mid-length with a contrasting maple are the hour markers for the clock.

The white hour hand triangle sets off the orange minute hand and red second hand as they sweep around the clock, all set on a base of brass on which is a plaque inscribed “howard miller”.

The plug on the back is designed to be inserted into an electrical outlet.

On the back plate is inscribed the identifying number 02237 and “Howard Miller Clock Co. Zeeland Mich.” along with a peeling label containing manufacturer’s technical information.

The condition of the clock is very good, with a few signs of age.

The red second hand is a bit crinkled and there is a chip off the orange minute hand enamel; both flaws are reparable or replaceable.

The wooden spindles are all in excellent condition; the clock measures 23” in diameter.

I can’t guarantee that it is in working condition since I have used it only for decorative purposes.
