Vintage pair Wales of Japan boy-girl football players ceramic figurines. Pair is in good vintage condition with no cracks, dents, color fading or repair. Both are hand painted in a Hummel style. However, the boy\'s left thumb tip is slightly chipped, and there are scuff marks on the back of each chair (see photos).Measurements: Approx. 4 inches x 3 inchesWhat makes this pair unique is the figurines tell a story. The happy football player is a girl. She is shown wearing an orange helmet taking off her shoe while sitting on a chair. She is pretty with curls, so even though she\'s in football gear, we know she\'s a girl. She also has a happy expression, so perhaps her team won?The boy is wearing a brown helmet, and has a pensive facial expression. His open-hand gesture indicates that he might have missed the big catch.Both are hand painted and show great artistic detail. On the bottom, each has a foil label denoting the Wales of Japan logo that is registered with the US Patent Office.Thank you for shopping with us!
