Vintage PIERO FORNASETTI Malachite Ice Bucket 1960s PLEASE NOTE: Items will sometimes be photographed with additional light (flash or natural fill light) and this may cause some highlights or reflection to appear on the surface of the item. Fornasetti Design. Malachite pattern. Aluminum collar, liner and lid. Chromed knob on lid. Brass ball feet. Ice buckets were introduced in the late 50s and continued production up until the late 60s. Please see the book: Fornasetti The Complete Universe. by Barnaba Fornasetti, pp 476-478 for examples of ice buckets. This pattern is not shown in the book. It is stated on page 478 that none of the 65 registered designs of the ice buckets were ever re-issued.
Measures: 10” tall by 9” across.Marked: see photo ()Condition: Good/Good (evidence of age/use, knob has rust/pitting, areas of pitting of metal underneath painted design which show up as small flattened bubbles but do not break through the painted surface, a few areas where the design has been scratched through, one area where the design has some corroded spots, these can be touched up easily)
