You are offerding on a Vintage possibly Antique/Victorian Pair of Mantle Dogs. These dogs are in the King Charles style and are the classic Spaniels breed. These dogs are \'large\' - almost 12\". Each dog is hand painted with the classic \'rust/redish\' color on white porcelain. The eyes are yellow and black is used on the nose and pupils. Other unique color used is a tan color around the snout. As with most of these \'Staffordshire\' style dogs - there is a chain and collar - this pair has the gold/gilt chain.

There\'s several indications of the age on this pair. Please refer to the pictures - while the bottom is stamped with the green \'made in England\' mark (which may indicate a dating of around early 1920\'s) - the piece is imprinted with \"made in England\' and \'Wood\' (which typically islate 19th Century).I\'ve seen two pairs of these dogs listed on retail antique dealer sites - each listed the pair as \'Victorian\'. Another indication of age is that the pair are not exactly the same - either in size or in paint (especially in the face area).The pair are in nice condition overall - no chips, cracks or major flaws. The only imperfectionsare some paint flaking (not chipping) in several areas - otherwise, the dogs show nice aging (crazing) and are in great condition. As mentioned - imprinted with \'Wood\' on the bottom for Arthur Wood. Here\'s the rest of the details:
