Up for offer is a vintage New Guinea Sepik River Medicine Holder. I got this particular medicine holder and 8-10 other masks from my aunt who traveled pretty extensively in New Guinea in the 1970\'s and 1980\'s, so these masks are probably 30-40 years old. Doing my best to describe these accurately based on what she remembers and what I could dig up on the internet. So if you see something that sounds off, feel free to let me know.
This one is a great hand-carved medicine holder with a rattan wrap at the top. Great brown color with orange and white highlights on the main holder.Mask measures 15\" long x 2\" wide.
Medicine holder is in nice shape. Great details on the main portion. No chips or cracks. Some light wear to white paint at bottom of tube. Stored in a cool, dry attic the last 20 years.
