The followinglisting is foran Antique Vintage German Hausser Composition Elastolin Animal Bull.

Maker:Made in Germany. Possibly Hausser since the Hausser catalog shows one that looks just like this one. It\'s number was difficult to read but looks like 4502.

Marked:It is unmarked.

Material:Elastolin composition figures are made from sawdust, a glue such as casein, and clay (kaolin) molded on a wire armature and hand painted at the factory.

Features:The following listing is foran Antique or Vintage German Elastolin Composite / Composition Animal / Bull. Painteddark brown/taupe or greywith facial features (white eyes with black pupils,black nose with pink nostrils and mouth line), black hooves andgrey or taupecow-hide with dark brown head. The fur ismedium gray / taupe over dark brown/black.Thebull isnicelysculpted with very fine detail. The tail is swishing towards the head. This may beHausser. Elastolin was created in 1912 by Otto and Max Hausser but later utilized by Lineol and other manufactures. Since this is marked, it is certain to be Lineol. I have several listed but some are marked with Germany, two lines, Lineol and unmarked. Some I have found in catelogs - including a Hausser catelog.

Size:Thisitem is approximately;2.75 inches (7 cm)heightby 4.5\" (11.25 cm)length.

Age:1930s-40s approximately.

Condition: Condition is subjective but item is used and wear is evident as seen in the photographs.Used with crazing of paint wear with paint chips, bent left horn (may be factory flaw) crack to left front leg apparent but not all the way through the leg, factory flaw or age crack between back legs under cow: please look at the photographs as part of the description. Still quite nice. I may not have caught everything so please rely on pictures as part of description.
