From my personal collection. I\'ve collected Southwestern jewelry since the 1970\'s. Beautiful pendant featuring a spectacular spinyoyster shell which is set on a foundation of heavy gauge sterling silver. The shell has striations of purple and yellow and is smooth tothe touch - not ridged. The bail is marked \"Sterling\" but does not have a maker\'s mark. Bail is hinged to move forward and backward,photos 10 and 11 show the range of the movement. Pieces before 1970 were rarely signed. Asthe demand from collectors becamestronger, the collectors wanted to be able to identify whomade their jewelry. In 1970 it wasrecommended the jewelry be identifiedby a hallmark. From that timeon more and more jewelry wasidentified by a hallmark. I have hand polished this pendant with a softpolishing cloth. Sterling will become dark and can be polished back to a brilliant shinetime after time - that is the beauty of sterling. Don\'t let the shine belie the fact that this is a vintage pendant.Never out of style, Southwest jewelry is an investment in enjoyment to last a lifetime.
