What a treasure! This Royal Order of Jesters\' estate sale find is in bright, as-new condition. The colors (red, green, and gold) are strong, the stitching between the sections is intact. There are 3 small holes in the felt.The Billiken King sits near the top of the hat, with sewn-on red jewel eyes. The letters of PORTLAND are separated by six sewn-on sparkling jewels. Those letters circle a sewn-on rose, underscored by the number 29.The history of the Royal Order of Jesters goes back to 1911, adopting as their slogan \"Mirth is King.\". There is no way to determine the exact age of this hat, but the style of the size tag appears to be older.The size is 7 1/4.
