Vintage Russian HandPainted Lacquer on Large Wooden Easter Egg

This spectacular egg comesfrom a one owner collection. The owner purchased some of these eggs from theUkranian Art Center on Melrose Ave, in Los Angeles, CA. Many will come in theoriginal purple box from that store. Please see my other items for otherspectacular eggs!

This hand-made,wooden, goose-sized egg measures about 4-1/2 inches in length and about 7inches around. Comes with black lacquered egg stand.

Stunning,hand painted Madonna on the front. She has a gold halo that is either gold-leafor gold paint. Has some red writing on the sides, appears to be Russian. Goldbyzantine cross on the back with scroll detail around it.

Trulyincredible artistry! Has a tiny hole in the bottom, and some tape residue onthe bottom that I did not try to clean off. Will leave it to the new owner.
