Vintage SHELLEY "RED ROOF COTTAGE" Very Rare CHESTER Shape Teacup and Saucer MINT!! Description
- I am offering a beautiful vintage teacup and saucer made by Shelley, England
- The pattern is RED ROOF COTTAGE #3
- Hand decorated with enamelled details over transfer
- Rare CHESTER shape which according to my reference material was produced from 1931-1960 but I have not seen this shape commonly offered; it is definitely an earlier production
- Definitive circular loop handle with double holder
- Pristine condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, other damage or restoration - both pieces pass the "ping" bone china test perfectly
- The transfer is bright and unfaded and shows no wear
- Trimmed in dark orange which is 99% intact and the only flaw is a minor 1/21" miss of the dark orange paint on the saucer edge
- Cup bowl measures 5" across (including handle) and is 2 1/4" tall at side; saucer is 5 5/8" across
- Marked as shown in photo with standard Shelley shield mark in green and pattern number 2115 handpainted in dark red
- Please ignore white spots on photos caused by camera flash
- This would make a great addition to your Shelley collection
