Vintage Santo Domingo Turquoise Nugget necklace by Felicita Garcia:

This nugget necklace contains 38 Kingman nuggets. The weight of the necklace is 990 carats. It is 20\" long. The largest nuggets measure approximately 15 mm x 30 mm. Felicia Garcia strung these nuggets on the traditional waxed thread. It is finished off with 10 mm sterling silver beads and a hand made hook and eye closure. My sister and I bought this piece from her at her home on the Santo Domingo Pueblo which is located between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. It is one of the 8 Northern Pueblos in New Mexico. Mrs. Garcia\'s family has created beautiful necklaces over a 50 year period. I\'m sure some of her family are still creating wonderful pieces. This piece has been in our collection since 1976.
