The cups &lids are free of dings, chips, or damage with the exception of one lid. There is a tinyding in the inside of the lid handle, truly not noticeable. This set was purchased at an Estate Sale and I was told that it is from Japan and wasbrought to the USin the 50\'s or 60\'s (I am no porcelain / china expert though). It appears to be bone china (slightly translucent) or very fine porcelain with a hand painted graceful design of leaves with thin spiral pinstripes on each cup and lid. The lovely leaf design continues on the inside of the cups.
