Up for offer is an originalvintage used Sheaffer\'s Balance 875Fountain Pen 14k Gold Nib Plunger Vacuum Filler. This Sheaffer\'s Balance-style 875 fountain penin a small size dates from about the mid 1940s. Vac-fil pen is brown striated color with goldplated trim. Fine two-tone open 14k nibis smooth and firm. Found at an estate sale of an individual that hadcollected various artifacts and antiques and planned to open up an antiquestore, but never did. Much of the itemshad been in storage for a long time and each box of items that were opened waslike opening up a time capsule. This penwas among other writing items (i.e., Ink Wells, Powder Boxes, etc.). This fountain pen ismarked \"W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co Fort Madison, Iowa, U.S.A. Made in USA\"and has the number \"875\" on the barrel and \"Sheaffer\'s Reg. U.S.Pat Off., Made in USA, 14k\" on the nib. The pen may need restoration to work. It haswear from usage and scratches, but has no chips or cracks. It measures about5\" long with the cap on. A greatpen for any fountain pen collector.
