This sale is for a very nice vintage Russian hand painted decorative lacquer box. I am in the process of downsizing and will be parting ways with literally thousands of quality items that I have collected over the years. This fine decorative box depicts a colorful portrait of a manned sleigh pulled by a trio frenzied horses. Troika is the translation for trio. This is a common theme in the Russian culture. The artist really captures the intensity of this portrait, (see pics). This is a simple rectangle formed box with no hinge. The interior of the box is painted as well; all in red. The lid fits very snug, as it is well made. The box measures 3 7/8\" x 2 3/4\" X 1 3/8\". It is marked on the lid 07, (which is not the date, as I\'ve owned this as a vintage piece at the time since the late 80\'s), the Russian translation for troika (Tpo backward \"n\" ko or a) and artist initials H, with a backwards \"N\", (see pics). It is in very good condition, with expected lacquer checking. I will be list another Russian lacquer box soon so please check my other sales for more nice antiques and collectibles.
