It\'s an extremely well designed and manufactured machine that is so very reliable and versatile. Mechanically, this machine is in excellent condition. It has very recently been professionally serviced, cleaned, oiled, and adjusted. The motor was disassembled and cleaned, including the armature and brushes. This motor runs very strong, fast and smooth. The hand wheel was also completely disassembled, cleaned and lubed, so it will work just like it did when it was fresh from the factory.

Many careful hours were spent cleaning out the old grease and oil then replacing with new Lube (we use the finest Tri-Flow clear synthetic grease and quality sewing machine oil) as well as cleaning and checking the operation of every single part in the machine. This machine has been very well cared for by its previous owner - the original paint is in very nice condition, with some minor pin scratches on the bed caused by normal use, a group of small scratches on the left side of the pattern selector plate, plus a few small paint chips being the only flaws.

Built in Stitch Selection - The 401A comes with the famous Singer internal Cam Stack. There are many different decorative stitch patterns available by simply setting the two front selector knobs. If you get tired of those designs, there are also additional cams available that will give you many more stitch patterns to choose from.
