Vintage Singer Walnut Art Deco Sewing Machine Cabinet Fits 201 15 66 301 More This is a SINGER sewing machine cabinet, the art deco style and in a walnut finish, circa 1950\'s. I need to point out that this cabinet is by far the very hardest one to find in GREAT condition! Most of them have veneer and/or finish issues. This cabinet that is for sale here is a wonderful example of one that has been lovingly cared for!! I have had this in my sewing room for several years and am moving my sewing room to another room in our house and changing styles which includes all my deco cabinets.Everything is solid and working as it should, the drawers for storage in the front and the bar that swings out to hold the top when it is opened. The tops sit flat when closed. The dust board is there and the top left drawer has a built in thread spool holder. This cabinet has a built in knee pedal with a bracket installed to hold the bakelite foot pedal. Most of these later deco cabinets have the built in metal foot pedal at the bottom. Those are nice but you can\'t push the deco stool all the way inside the cabinet which I find kind of annoying. The hole for the machine measures 16 5/8\'\' X 7 1/8\'\' deep without the black spacer bar. With the black spacer bar it measures 14 7/8\'\' X 7 1/8\'\'. The measurement of the hinge pin on the left is 2 9/16\'\' dead center and 4 3/8\'\' from the right, also dead center. This cabinet will work for machines that are not Singer, you just need to measure the bed of your machine and hinge placements.As is, this cabinet will accommodate a Singer 201, 66, 15 etc. If you want to put a 301, 401, or a 403 etc. model in it, the black metal spacer bar will have to be removed. Just mention it when paying and we\'ll remove it for you if need be.Singer made two styles of the deco cabinet. The first ones are the ones without a door on the right exposing the drawers. The later ones ones, like this one, have a door on the right which opens to reveal the drawers.These earlier cabinets had an inkwell in the small left hand drawer on the left. Singer advertised these cabinets as appearing like or used as a desk when not sewing. The later cabinets (like this one) have a built in thread spool holder.
The cabinet has a lovely shine throughout, a mirror-like finish! The walnut finish is on the medium to dark side and allows the lovely wood graining to show! It is is good sturdy solid condition and quite a lovely example of a Singer art deco cabinet! This cabinet measures 29\'\' wide, it is 16 3/4\'\' deep and stands 31\'\' high. One small ¼\'\' veneer loss at the bottom right and a very tiny dent here and there. See last photo.The finish and overall condition of the cabinet is amazing and RARE! I cannot express enough how difficult it is to find one in good condition! It took me years to find four of these deco cabinets in nice shape. If you are looking for one, you will be hard pressed to find another one in such wonderful condition!***This cabinet will be shipped after very careful packing. It will be wrapped in thick styrofoam. It doesn\'t come apart so shipping is rather high but I am not making money on the shipping. I occasionally go to Frederick, Md and could mail it through Greyhound there. It could be a couple of weeks before I can make the 125 mile trip. I plan on going that way on November 3rd. The shipping price is only a few dollars difference for east or west coast through Greyhound. You would have to pick it up at your Greyhound terminal. The shipping weight is 75 lbs packed, package size of 34\'\' (longest measurement) and you can go to the Greyhound Package Express site and use Frederick, MD as where it is shipped from and put in your local Greyhound station that ships packages and get the figure I will use to ship it.
