Vintage Slingerland snare drum -- from the early 1970s.
Chrome over brass shell -- 14 x 5.5. inch size.
Black and silver oval badge, Niles, Ill. production -- serial number 70526.
Drum weight is 8 pounds 10 ounces.
I tested the shell with a magnet and it does not stick -- the shell is brass.
Very clean original drum. Very nice chrome finish. Excellent shell interior and bearing edges.
Original lugs and Stick Saver hoops. Original working muffler, throw off and buttplate.
Nice and clean shell exteriorfinish. A few slight depressions on the shell exterior -- common on these softer brass shells.
These drums are noted for their excellent tone, response and attack and wide tuning range.
A very nice example of this classic snare drum. Priced to sell.
