This is a vintage hardwood Fletcher Southern shuttle for making clothing and hat labels. Mounted in racks on looms they were all operated by an endless loop of chain. The shuttle is marked with the company name and “2248682”, probably a model number. Made almost entirely out wood, including the gears. Completely original, including the finish on the wood and the red thread. It measures 6 1/8” long x 2 1/2” deep x 3 3/4” tall. In excellent condition.
