Up for sale is a older specimen with a cluster of amethyst from South Carolina. This specimen still has the old handwritten label. Thecrystals are a pale purple with clear, well formed terminations. Individual crystals are up to 1 cm long and 1 cm diameter; overall specimen size 3 cm x 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm. No other locality information was listed, but based on the time frame this collection was assembled and the morphology of the crystals, it is probably from the classic Due West/Abbeville area.

This was acquired in a collection from a geologist who collected from the early 1900s to mid 1900s. This is a nice old specimen for the collector of Southern USminerals or those with an interest inolder specimens from the US.
