Very tall porcelain and brass lamp from the Crest Co. of Chicago. It stands 28.5\" to the top of the milk glass fitter. The lamp is 17.5\" to the top of the porcelain. It is mounted on a nicely detailed brass base which is marked \"CREST 376\" on the bottom. I am not positive if the lamp is porcelain or pottery. I assume porcelain due to the fine china type gloss finish. The background is ivory with vertical rows of petite roses and leaves separated by lines of gold, while the bottom section has a rings of flowers and gilt decoration. It was very hard to show in the pictures just how beautiful this is.

The lamp is in excellent condition with hardly any sign of wear. The milk glass top is marked \"CREST CO\". The inside of the top and bottom edges have roughness, which was the way it was made. I believe there is some after market roughness along the inside edge as well, but nothing noticeable unless you look very closely. One thing I must mention is that the light socket has a 1.5\" opening and requires a larger light bulb, so I am including the one that was with the lamp when I bought it. It is a three way light bulb, but it only has one brightness level that still works (which I think is the middle level). I do not know exactly how old the lamp is, but it has a bakelite plug and a bakelite knob for the switch, so it goes back to at least the middle of the last century.
