The prior owner thought this may date back to 1940\'s ~ 1950\'s when Japanese Cottage Ware Cheese or Butter Block Covered Dish were very popular

Bottom plate measures about : 4 1/2 \" x 2 \" deep and 5\" high with lid

Great detailing ~ A miniature Cow is the handle of this dish and is hand painted in black and white, with a bit of a yellow cow lick topped heard, pink tough and pink udder, cow is adorable and in amazingly great condition. The top of cover is hand painted with a chef\'s hat, salt/pepper shakers, knife, tomato, fork, rolling pin, spoon, cutting board, coffee grinder.. The front bottom of the dish reads cottage cheese..

This is in great condition, the only flaw I can find is one very minor chip on the bottom dish lip. It is on the top and is not noticeable with cover on. It is barely noticeable with cover off in my opinion, I am trying to show it to you in the photos, it is hard to photograph..ask any questions at all
