Thomas T. Singer: Navajo 1938-2014.This is an early Thomas Singer. He along with his brothers pioneered the chip inlay process in the 1960’s and these are some of his early hallmarks. The TcS stamp on the buckle makes this an undeniable Tommy Singer piece and the Tc (cresent moon) on the remaining conchas are his verified marks in Wright’s book “Hallmarks of the Southwest”, Hougart’s “Southwestern Silver”, and online at “native american hallmarks”The 16 hand made sterling silver conchas with turquoise and red coral chip inlay are individually signed with Tommy Singer’s hallmark. No two conchas are exactly alike. Different hand stamping makes each one a separate and unique work of art. The water bird or peyote bird and the teepee designs are classic Singer features.The concho belt is 37” long, weighs 224 grams and has been tested to be minimum 90% silver content (sterling silver assays at 90% minimum silver). Each concha is 1½” in diameter and the loops are ¼” diameter. There are no dings, no dents, no damage. The chip inlay surface is smooth and there are no missing chips. This is a vintage pre-owned handmade piece and it is in exceptionally good condition.It is in a smoke and pet free home.
