Hi, thanks for checking out my Vintage treadle sewing machine!I had a lot of fun creating the aesthetics for the piece of vintage home machinery. I used DuPont chroma base for the paint colors and Nason Clear for the glossy clear coat. The focal color of the machine is a custom blended pink color. I also used some white as well as silver Metalflake. On the machine head only I also did some paneling with red lace. If you\'ll notice the red and pink compliment each other quite well, this is partly because the pink is formulated by diluting the red with the white. Additionally, there are some fine gold Pinstriping accents on the machine head. I did these by hand with a brush and One Shot paint. The tabletop is hand fabricated by myself from steel. I hand cut the pattern for the machine and for the belt to pass through in 3/16\" steel and propped it up on 2x1\" rectangular tube which is bolted with 1/4-20 Allen screws to the vintage irons.I fabricate these tops for several reasons. The main one is that for me, the coolest part of these machines are the iron legs and the movement of the treadle mechanisms. Creating a tabletop like this allows these features to be highlighted much more than would be possible with the original wood cabinets. Another major feature is that this style top as opposed to a traditional cabinet creates a much smaller footprint in a room. Thus this piece makes an excellent feature in any size room without overwhelming the room in which it is displayed. The history of this machine is interesting. I am going to share what I have learned from my research. However, this is only considered to be true to the best of my knowledge. When the machine came to me it was branded as a Minnehaha. From what I have learned the National Sewing Machine Company produced the same machine branded with the names of various communities across the US and in the Midwest in particular as a marketing strategy. It appears that this machine was produced in the 1920\'s in Belvidere, IL.The machine is functional. I went through it, cleaned it, oiled it and made any repairs I thought where needed. The treadle belt is also new. I once sold one of my treadles to a customer who later called me frustrated that she was having a harder time sewing on it than her 100$ modern Brother she bought at Joan\'s. So I feel I must state that your buying a roughly 100 year old machine. Your buying it for the looks and the cool factor because it will absolutely make any room you put it in! There is an art to sewing with a treadle and you can expect to have to do some tinkering if you want to sew with it regularly. That should be part of the fun! There is no warranty implied or explicit. Please go and CHECK OUT THE VIDEO see for yourself it sewing in action and get a more in person feel for how it looks. Simply search \"Jake\'s Vintage Treadle Sewing Machine\" on YouTube.I am listing this machine as free shipping. These machines typically cost between 150-200$ to ship. I would be willing to negotiate a discount if you arrange pickup within a reasonable time period. Feel free to ask me questions. I am also happy to discuss custom projects, I make my living as an artist, custom motorcycle builder, and fabricator. I love bringing vintage and unique materials into the contemporary home.JakeOpen main menu
